Consumers Union
CU is a nonprofit agency best known for widely distributed magazine Consumer Reports. The organization was founded in 1936 to educate consumers in the face of the ever-expanding popularity of advertising. Cu employs lobbyists, grassroots organizers and outreach specialists in partnership with more than 600,000 online activists to create change in legislation and the marketplace.
