American Veterinary Medical Association
Established in 1863, AVMA is a nonprofit group representing more than 78,000 veterinarians. AVMA vets work in private practice, public health, agriculture, food safety and academia. AVMA also works with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the U.S. Department of Education and the National Academy of Sciences.
